This is the story of a Kenyan fisherman Ali and Daniela, an adventurer born in Italy. Thanks to them both, the sailing boats in this corner of the Indian Ocean are also surfing the waves of trends thanks to upcycling: the art of enhancing used products by giving them a new vocation. Nothing is lost, everything is transformed ! This is the brilliant idea of the young brand Ali Lamu, which gives a second life to the sails of boats, from wooden dhows to pretty cotton sails called tanga in Swahili. After having had their day, the sun and the sea give them a unique patina, impossible to reproduce by traditional means. Once sorted, selected and then sublimated by a good dose of love and inventiveness, the sails become bags, pouches or cushions.
