Wood wick : During the first combustion, leave the candle lit long enough for the entire surface to become liquid, to prevent the candle from hollowing out later. (At least 1-2 hours) Every lighting, cut the wick to about 0.5 cm if necessary. To cut it, pinch the curved parts of the black wick, but not all the black part! If the candle flame dims and seems to be going out, let it burn for another 20 minutes. If the flame remains weak, turn it off, wait for the wax to harden, then pinch the black part a little more. If the wick is too long, it could cause black smoke. Remember that patience is the key! Wooden wicks take time to maintain as they are mini chimney fires. :)
To avoid the risk of fire, never leave a burning candle unattended and always light it on a heat-resistant surface. Keep it away from flammable objects, pets, children or anything that can catch fire. Do not burn the candle for more than 4 hours at a time. Stop using the candle when there is only one cm of wax left.
